So I got a temporary, low-paying gig at a very reuputable, diverse, decent company destined for continuous profit for the next few years, at least.

Wooh!

The only downside is possible burnout on a product. But I'm happy to be making a dollar, and not at target doing night stocking!

Looking forward to the adholes meetup in NY! Who's going so far?

Back to the hole.

How's everyone?

Alright, so, my gig is over (for now, they swear they will bring me back)... I ate a lot of chocolate, cookies, ham, candy and popcorn.

Hey there, daddy-o. Freelance is good at the Happiest In House Gig On Earth. I'm working with writers who are from a publishing background, it's a bit odd but fun. Keeping me real busy, for sure. I don't even have half the time for Adholes! Still looking forward to the meetup, I want that iPod really bad.

Hi, Pfeiffer. How's the new gig and what's new in *smooch*ville? - Pacino.

I moved to the client side (aka "in-house") 4 years ago. It's an adjustment from the culture I grew up in, but... I'm happier now than I ever was in 20 years on the agency side. I find I can make richer contributions and can also learn more. Your mileage may vary, but I would encourage you to give it a real chance.

I've been in house at 3M for about 2 1/2 years. After 3 layoffs in one year - this has been a small haven for me. It pays really well considering I only have to handle one client and NEVER ever have to take work home (when I leave at 5:30 - yes, 5:30 I leave it all here). There is something to be said about it. It's almost time for me to go, but hell - the alternative is working harder than a person has to for just a little more cash (if I'm lucky). NOt too appealing anymore. Relax and enjoy the ride. When you get back into the grind, it may just grind you up. Or you may come out of this completely rejuvinated! Either way - it's a good paid vacation. My two cents....

"...continuous profit" = a kind of ease of mind = take a "break" from the product when ya' can 'cause you've got "...continuous profit" Good on ya', Lori ~

Lori, I've been waiting to hear from you!! I'm sooo glad you found something. So it's not "The" gig, but you still never know what's around the corner. Congratulations.
