Here are a few ads to check out from this years super bowl

Sierra Mist "Airport"
Another execution of that "the product is so great, people will do all sorts of wacky things to get ahold of it."
Except in this spot "starring" D-level celebrities, Kathy Griffin, Michael Ian Black and what's his name, what they do just isn't wacky enough to overcome the advertising cliche. Griffin's unsubtle mouthing of the metal detector sound, and the complete absurdity of a plastic bottle being suspected of anything makes this spot as flat as if you left the Sierra Mist out in the sun for a few weeks. Most great humor spots have a human truth that's exaggerated. Except that's missing. It's almost like they improved the spot and took the suckiest bit they came up with. Maybe the outtakes were better.

Bud Light "Office"
junior executive explains to his boss in the company elevator that in order to boost morale, he's hidden Bud Light all over the office
It sounds like one of those last minute ideas that the client buys off on because the creative department didn't give them anything better or worse. It's mediocre, and expected all the way. Not to mention associating Bud Light with such drab surroundings as a cubicle farm, complete with dreary florescent lighting and you lack the visual stimulation you'd come to expect in a high budget humor commercial. Then of course, there's the old "why in the world does this make me want to drink a Bud Light?" This is Super Bowl Sunday, not a day I want to be thinking about the office, especially if it looks like BBDO during a new business pitch. Finally, gags about the office are what you'd expect from a bunch of guys sitting around one coming up with 'ideas.'
