One rather smart and talented Adholer wrote this recently: "My present place holds everyone in a constant fear of speaking out. But the f-ed up part is they want, excuse me, force everyone to pretend like it's a totally open environment where they encourage you to speak your mind...total B.S. and insulting as hell. So, long answer short--right now: ignore...but finding it much harder not to YAP lately. At really awful meetings, I have to forceably hold down my right hand with my left hand so I don't take out my eye with my pencil."

We've got a great mix of established folks, and new folks here. I'd like to hear what everybody here (regardless of experience level / pay level / whatever) has to say.

Personally, I'd do the following:
During the next meeting where I knew (yet again) everyone was being stupid, I'd state clearly, "Okay, this is retarded. Clearly Joan (the CEO client) is an emperor who's asking us to talk about her clothes. Her ideas suck. She's not wearing any clothes. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get fired for saying this, but I'm more than sure all of you silent bastards all feel the same way. Can we, as one team, stand up like we're paid to do and offer some better ideas, or am I going to spend the rest of the weekend doing kamikazes in the local bar while you all wish you had balls like me?"

Okay, your turn.

Hey Kevin, long time no see. How ya been? I'll play. What would I do? Make a face, get everyone's attention, make my pitch, sell it through, and tap dance out of the room. It works for me. No encores, just purchase orders, with the correct terms- please.
