So I just watched Man Bites Dog, and that pesky belief in God thing I had is now gone. That movie was done so well; so well I never want to watch it again. The lack of emotion in the main character throughout every murder was, I think, the heartbeat of this movie. Watching Natural Born Killers you can satirically recognize the undertone that violence in the media has desensitized us, or at least me to violent crimes. But in Man Bites Dog this sentiment realistically pounds you over the head unmercifully. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys watching a child being smothered by a pillow. Anyone else seen it, and want to join my support group? I'm gonna watch the Cosby Show.

I first saw Man Bites Dog during a "study" session wherein my friends and i took Caligula to Walnut Grove (al a Little House on the Prarie). We backed it with the Tom Waits movie, Big Time. Fantastic film.(Both) Have you seen Suicide Circle?

My favourite scene in the movie is when they play "Dead Baby Boy" in the bar... it's disturbing on so many levels, yet I cannot seem to push it from my mind. Which version did you watch? The standard release, or the out-of-control director's cut?
