Like looking through a journal, I just re-read my first "M I A" post. Kinda' scary, interesting, reflective and ... continuing. Since that first post, there are have (as usual) more, apparent, changes -- another (short, thank Goodness) move, new clients come, "old" clients fade away, astounding new friends, Friends and relationships and, every day, a personal celebration of -- living! Have I, always, liked what's been dished up? -- heck no! Am I glad I'm still in the Game? -- heck --- yes! ...and, for me, that's one of many "tricks" - to find/make/re-kindle that personal affirmation of - yes! There are way too many ways these days to slip into the sliding slope of -- "Life is a misery." "All news is bad news." "Nothing will ever get better." etc. Don't believe it! If some of you were awake as early as I this morning, you might have witnessed another mircle -- day break, sun rise. Silent. Unheralded. Every day. No matter that there might have been a few, wispy clouds - they were ... scarlet, against a clearer, soft blue, December, New England sky. The three crows announced the change from night to day, sitting on their high-advantage, leafless oak tree across the way. The gathering of sparrows knew it was time to, yet again, check out what was put there for them at the home-made feeder just outside the window. Today they got an extra treat of - fresh fruit with their seed. If, throughout our "worry" day we can notice the "small" things - how the leaves of a rhododendron curl and uncurl, according to the temperatures these days; how to say, "Please." and "Thank you." and "Excuse me." when applicable; how to keep that most sacred and special place within each of us -- sacred and well-kept and peaceful - then, we have satisfied part of our "job" on this earth for that day. ...and, if the opportunity presents itself - to share that observation, understanding, courtesy and peacefulness with just one other person - whether they "know" it or not. "We are here, and it is now. Further than that, all human knowledge is moonshine." ~ H. L. Mencken Dance on ... |
