Having worked for agency's that were "international" we can all relate to those meetings where the client insists on having a common message or theme for their campaign that is going to be across a wide variety of cultures. We all know that some ideas are not worth pursuing across the world. However, when local offices come up with some surreal ideas, we can all stare in amazement over their pure nutty genius.

Some of the best commercials out there are also from other countries, take our conversations about Virgin Mobile's ad work (that odd viral campaign for example, the Mangina...).

But some commercials just defy explaination. As a fan of anima and a good friend who lived in Japan four five years, even she couldn't explain this commercial from McDonald's. Click to Open Web Page

I'm still having nightmares over the actual Burger King in full mannequin goodness waking me up in the middle of the night offering up fast food...
