That rich old lady

So the buyer I'm working with on my latest client says to me about my latest body of work for a line of lighting products, "It needs a change. You know that rich old lady?"

"Who?" I ask, completely confused.

"You know, that grandma out there with all the money in the world and unusual, but exceptional taste? We want to sell our lighting to her."

"K. So you're looking for a real upscale, sort of snobby appeal to the copy?"

"Good lord no!" She states emphatically. "Definitely not that. Here, I'll write up something and I'll email it to you later so you can see what I'm talking about."

So, just another day at the office. How's everyone else?

Mark, no doubt you'll handle it brilliantly. Oxymorons are your business now. Your "creativity" is in how you make oxymorons seem applicable.

oy. I had a conference call and got another - "you know, make it purple, but not purple...really, just purple feeling" - kinda moment. But I'm feeling better now.
