When should you be a house of brands vs. a branded house? What are some examples of each? What process do you use to make that determination? Something I have been tossing around in my head and would love to hear other peoples thoughts....

House of brands... hmmm Johnson & Johnson maybe... or GE... or GM... a branded house... hmmmm Nike... Walmart... I know these aren't Ad Agencies but to me, a branded house is one where quality and connection and committment to the product and the client / customer outweigh the number of clients you cater to... the laundry list if you will... could be wrong though...
