They're supposed to create the illusion of a 24 hour party without alcohol or sex. It's live, has music, and it's 3 stories high. The models take shifts during the day. Oh, and it's advertising a new fragrance.

I think it was Adidas in Asia (Tokyo, maybe) did a live soccer match on a billboard. People and ball suspended from cables on a field-like billboard.

Wow, there are some cold people on here! How do you figure you're going to hit them up there with your water balloons? They'll just catch them and then nail you on the sidewalk.

Ok, so maybe it's not the first ever, but that's what they are trying to claim. Ed - the fitness center with the treadmills is funny. It's almost like watching human guinea pigs! But it also reminds me of all those store front gyms that would have prolems with men stalking the women working out in front of the windows.

There was also that billboard for a fitness center that had people on treadmills as well. It was in NY as well.

Mr Slappy - IF I was in NYC, I'd be down with launching some water balloons at them. Or maybe launching sammiches would be the humane thing to do.

I think its totally stupid but at the same time pretty fun. It must be an amazing thing for tourists to see, for the everyday new yorker its no more interesting than looking at the heat rising from the pavement.

Hmmmmmm...a bunch of emaciated reeds are getting paid more money than I probably am to stand around and party. If I start throwing up now, do you think there will still be a job opportunity available there next week? : P

It's like watching a real version of The Sims, but more boring. Unfortunately you can't control what they do - now THAT would be fun.

Let's all watch the beautiful people dance in the cubes! I think I'm going to barf. Someone in NYC please buy a water baloon launcher and pelt these cracker and cheese eatin freaks with some soggy ammo.

Yep, IKEA's done that too in Amsterdam I believe, setting fake interiors (tables, sofas etc...) in the streets. I believe it still gets people to talk about it, but so much of the success depends upon the look & execution...Does that CK animation looks convincing to you ?

They're perfecting their bored silly look and strutting back and forth for eternity with nothing to do. I mean, booze and disgraceful behavior are agaisnt the rules.

And Capers - we smell like roses and orange blossoms...

Don't know if it's the first ever. I know a Diesel store in Copenhagen used a similar tactic, but this is certainly on a much larger scale. Wow.

With the heat in NY I bet they have their own unique fragrance after their rotation. Do pretty people sweat? Inquiring minds want to know.
