Exactly, Chris. As creatives, we're not order takers when we're working with a client. We want to give them the best creative possible and sometimes that means questioning a strategy or marketing tactic for the greater good. A recruiter should question a job order instead of parroting it to the masses.

Guys give me a break. It is my client who is asking for the requirements. I too was in media before this gig. I'm just trying to find a media buyer that has direct online experience. And, here in the over educated city of Boston, receptionists have MBAs. Yes it is true. So please if you know of anyone, help me. Thank you.

I can understand the boston thing... it's online buying...not an online position... but the BS seems a little arbitrary. I could have a BS in Biology and it would not help in this position...just as I could have a BA in Communications with a speciality in online marketing that would be perfect. And since when is an MBA a quantitative advanced degree? Have you seen most MBA course tracks?

If I were a headhunter and a client gave me this list, I'd talk to them about how they're narrowcasting their search and eliminating a lot of potential talents. The bachelor of science is baffling. I've never heard of such a thing.

(cough cough) Chris.. "with 10 years internet experience..." The landscape is changing so much, you would do better to focus on behavioral interviews and selecting a personality that is inquisitive, knowledge thirsty, and analytical enough to stay on top of the trends.

If their focus is travel why a Science Degree? If it is an online position why Boston? Do head hunters not think?

I'd actually be qualified for this if it wasn't for the degrees. College is overrated. So are people who require college to get a job. Good thing I hate Boston. What's with starting punk shows at 6pm?
