Greeting Windy City Residents!

I just moved here a week ago and let me tell you that I am loving life in the city. Being a small town Missourian for the last 24 years got really REALLY boring. And what's with this walking thing ya'll do? FANTASTIC! I just don't understand how anyone could say the cities are unhealthy. How can anyone be over weight with all the foot traveling you have to do? I mean, its six blocks to just about anything in my neighborhood and driving would just be a waste. I've known deep in my soul for nearly 10 years that I belonged in the city...and I was right.

Anyways, back to the point of this blog. Unfortunately for myself, I got stationed in the one major metropolitan area in this country where I don't know a single soul. Being the social butterfly that I am, this lack of social scene is about to drive me crazy, and the Starbucks people are just getting to know me a little too well. Add in the fact that my new job (flight attendant) is definitely not going to keep me satisfied for more than 18 months, and my heart still aches for a position in the ad industry...we've got a major issue on our hands. Well, on my hands anyways.

If anyone could point me in the direction of a place where people in the world of advertising hang out, I'd really appreciate it. The industrial networking is only half the purpose of finding out the hotspots...I'd really just like to find some cool people to kick it with so I can escape the other members of the airline business.

To love, joy, and increased billings in the new year!

Kat

I don't know about you but I wouldn't go to a eye surgeon who wears glasses or a dentist who wears dentures.
