What kinda $$ should I be makin in LA?

I currently live in Atlanta and am interviewing for a jr ad position in LA. I really don't know how much I need to make to live in LA or how much I should make out in LA. I am a Circus grad and have a year of freelance under my belt as well as a year of interning. If anyone would care to offer up some advice, I would be much obliged. Thanks!

Rent should be about 40 to 75% of your monthly take home. Then Car payments, car insurance, then cloths, then eating out. You'll need to get married to reduce costs. Most major job boards have cost of living calculators which should give you some baseline - at least as a comparision to what you pay now.

Junior Ad position is pretty vague, you might poke around the aquent site and see if they have a download of their Salary guide. Not perfect, but it covers some basics if you can find it. Mostly it comes down to the agency, and how well you sell yourself. I've watched two pretty equally qualified candidates have the same position offered with an almost 50% difference between them. Came down to personality, the perceived creative fit, and what they asked for.

Solid book? You'll need one. Unless you aren't on the creative side. In which case, I can't help you. (They'll beat me later if I help the account side... it's brutal).
