Like the Energizer Bunny they just keep going...and going...and going.

Internet Casino Names New Breed of Flower

GoldenPalace.com, the internet casino famous for its outrageous and controversial advertising campaigns is showing a softer side with their latest marketing idea, to name a new Daylily flower.

They paid $5,000 for the privledge. The unique hybrid flower, which will officially be known as the GoldenPalace.com, is larger and shaped differently than a normal daylily. The new flower was developed by Robert Cobb of Webster Daylilies, whose has introduced over twenty of his grandfather's daylilies. He plans to send these new flowers out to many collectors around the country. The GoldenPalace.com lily will be included in large public displays and will also be listed in next year's official American Hererocallis Society registry.

My question: Do folks who belong to the American Hererocallis Society even gamble?

The irony is, as a consumer I completely forgot about Golden Palace, until this blog brought it up again. Shows you what all that money will buy.

$5000 for naming rights to a flower that will last forever? Sounds dirt cheap, and worth it in media impressions. Hey Marc, maybe you should sell your profile on adholes to golden palace. Or the "Jobs" button can be rebranded and renamed "Why Work So Hard."

I'm sure Hererocallis-ites are going to the vegas convention and dropping a nickle. And probably spending 15 mintues a month on porn sites. Gambling aint such a bad thing, and when all is said and done about the dotcom casinos, Golden Palance may be the last one we remember.

Hey Capers--what do you want for the naming rights? :) Golden Palace has their own little niche in "anything to get our name out there." It works for them as a cheap PR ploy but other brands might be seen as desperate where they seem quirky. I think they own that area just like Fugazi owns the $5 show.

Hey Marc, if you want to promote Adholes, I have a Cheeto that bears a striking resemblance to Bill Bernbach- I'll give you first dibs on it before I sell it on e-bay.
