Bill Moyers asks the NCMR 2008 conference to take up the cause of net neutrality and public broadcasting.

He fervently expresses his belief that we can create an alternative to the vast resources of Mega-Media that forcefully shape the public agenda-- with the aid of deregulation, consolidation, public resources, and Lunesta.

Please take a look at this video and leave responses. Best.

Scott, this is really powerful. So many of us are complacent and accepting of the "news" on TV today and don't remember, or have never seen, true journalism that made the press the 4th Estate. Fox news is to true journalism as creationism is to science. I'm all for capitalism, but mass media serve a public interest that is beyond stock holder profit.

The Federal Communications Commission is considering a new plan that would require winners of an upcoming spectrum auction to provide free wireless Internet services. The FCC could soon vote on a plan to auction off 25 megahertz of spectrum in the 2155MHz band of spectrum. As part of its plan, the commission would require the winner of those licenses to provide some free wireless Internet service.

This is a powerful message and righteous movement, because it is "our media not theirs." That would be, "we the people." BTW, media consolidation is an enemy, not a cure. CHECK THIS OUT... Silent weapons for quite wars, destroy what we need to know, reality and truth. http://adholes.com/postings/264dadbf...
