Dear Sirs, I would like to know why NASSCOM ( National Association of Software and Service Companies) Click to Open Web Page and our IT czars are quiet on the blog ban issue? I am sorry to say but NASSCOM and the IT czars by maintaining a deafening silence on something as basic as freedom of speech on the Web have portrayed India in a bad light. So much for India being a technology superpower and the world’s largest democracy. We are now seen by the world as brainless buffoons Click to Open Web Page and not as a land of IT geniuses. I hope you take the time to comment on this issue. Ethics, meritocracy, integrity, honour and good corporate governance are often tossed around like confetti by those heading India's IT firms. It’s now time to walk the talk. As Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.” On another note, let me assure you that if by banning blogging one human life would be saved I would quit blogging forever. Sincerely, Sunil Shibad Mumbai (India). |
