Does anyone know how to go about doing pro bono ads for non-profits in NYC? I was reading up on the Denver Ad Fed that they've got an official site set up that connects ad professionals with non-profits that are interested in doing ads.

Thanks!

Good idea, Marc. But the best way to persuade people is to set an example. Just smoke.

No, Tom. We were planning on getting together to convince people to smoke cigarettes. It's a real problem, these pesky laws and all, not allowing tobacco to get their message to consumers. So we're going out and spreading the word on their own, much like the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

One of the many ideas at Adholes was to put together a collective to do pro-bono work. Any interest in helping us head something like that up?

The Ad Council sorta does that. I think the easiest way is to ask a non-profit if you can do an ad for them, and if the're worthy find a partner interested in donating the media. I know tons of people who would be flattered to have professional ads done for them. In fact, I'm heavily involved with one such non-profit in NY, a mentoring program for at-risk kids. Want to make a free ad for me?
