I recently graduated from the University of Nebraska with a major in advertising. I really want to get into Art Direction and have been considering portfolio school.

Now to be honest...working at a top dog agency is not a MUST for me...working in a medium sized shop would fit me just fine...which is why I am considering the Chicago Portfolio School.

Like others have said, it's only a year, its cheaper, and you get to live in a great city. The downside of course is that (as others have said) it's not the most well regarded school. Working in a mid sized shop in a large city (Chicago, LA, etc) is what I really want to strive for! The astronomical cost of the two year programs are what's keeping me from taking the plunge with one of them.

Anyone have any advice on my current path? With where I am now, I think continuing education regarding creative advertising is a must. What do you think?

Matt, my best advice, spend time looking around Adholes for all the countless posts on this same topic. Then, if you still have questions, ask them here. Good luck.
